I bought this based on WSJ reviews. At first it was fine. I was happy with a sturdy piece of equipment. Then after a few uses the squeaking began. Ok WD40 once a week. Then after about three weeks the bolt that held the pulley broke rather suddenly. I was able to fix that, I used a higher grade bolt. Then after about two months the steel cable that runs from each step through the pulley broke. Well that is fatal. I tried rigging up a cable but wouldn’t hold. I couldn’t get a replacement part. (anyone find a source for parts let me know) Tried the duro med site. Leave a message, never a person. Did it every day for a weeks, nothing. I weight 180 used it 2-3 times a week and it made it a couple months. Maybe if you are little and don’t use it much it may last longer. I say save your money and go out and walk.

This product seems to be overpriced at Amazon.com. The mini-stepper seems to cost 66.50$ at other online vendors (just google by the name of the product).

I do not recommend this mini stepper.

First of all, even if you set the resistance to the hardest setting, it’s way too easy. It’s hard to get a workout.

Second, it broke after 8 months of light to moderate use.

I’ve bought two of these in the past year… Both had welds snap rendering them unusable.

The second one happened within two months of buying it. I’m 195 lbs, not too heavy for something like this.

Great product, though, if you want to buy a new one every few months but I sure as hell won’t be.
