with ball bearings in the wooden handles, and a real leather “rope” this is a perfect exercise jump rope. I am 5’10″ and the 9.5 footer is the correct length for me. I would not get the shorter rope unless you are 5’6 or shorter in height.

This is an excellent jump rope if you make a few modifications. I put a couple of knots in leather rope near the handles to shorten rope and tape around a one eighth ounce weight to each side of lower rope to speed it up and keep it stable on a windy day. It does wear out from friction near the rope handles but I am a heavy user and am lucky to get a couple of months from each rope. An upgrade in leather quality or thickness might give it longer life. Over all it is the best rope for the serious jumper I have used.

I received the item and had no problem on shortening the rope with a small tool I had. My only concern is that it came marked with a sticker in only one of the handles, not both. The “Everlast” brand is not ‘burned’ in the handle but it comes in a sticker, so it makes me wonder if it is genuine or not given that I have seen other everlast ropes before. Anyway, the product is great and after 3 weeks of use, it is still like new.
