About Reebok
Reebok’s United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder’s grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

The description listed above says you change in 2.5 lb increments. My Reebok Speed Pac 25 lb Adjustable Single Dumbbell is only changeable in 5 lb increments. It starts at 5 lbs and goes up to 25 lbs in only 5 lb increments. Model # RSAW120508 from Target. I bought 2 to make a set. So far they feel great and the price is right.

I use this product for my home workouts that I do 3 days a week. I tend to use the 10 pound and 15 pound plates a lot so I do a lot of switching back and forth. About 2 weeks into using this product I went to pick up the weights and the plastic piece on the hand weight that guides the plates and keeps the plates separated, broke. Dissappointing after having the weights only 2 weeks. I am not sure why the plastic piece broke but it is not fixable. It doesn’t seem to affect the use of the product, however the plates hit together and I am not sure what long term damage that may cause.

I used a pair of the 25 lb. Speed Pack weights for approx. 1 hour/week for 2 years. The other reviews are accurate. They do clank, but that may not be a bother for you. They do require a bit of wiggling to get the right amount of plates locked, but I felt this was fine given they were so much cheaper than alternatives like Bowflex and PowerBlock. No real complaints until the plastic piece that guides the plates shattered while I was doing a raised shoulder exercise. About 10 pounds of metal crashed on my knee cap. Reebok will not back these up as they are actually made by Icon Fitness Equipment. Icon will not refund due to length of time since purchase and there are no replacement parts. They are priced low, so you may be ok with them. Just don’t raise them over your head!

I ordered these weights for a weight training program that I am doing. I opted for these because the price of Selectechs was so very much higher. As one reviewer mentioned, they do ‘clank’ but that doesn’t bother me. I have a issue with switching from one weight poundage to another with ease. The lever seems to ‘stick’ and not move very freely. Also, when picking up the weights from the racks, sometimes the remaining weights shift and you have to move them back to their proper position. I am not displeased with the weights but would recommend to save your pennies for the set that is more expensive. If this is what you have to spend, these aren’t bad for the price.
I do like that they have their own holding rack. That comes in handy. And it is included and not a seperate purchase. I also like that you can select increments in 2.5 pounds and that both ends of a dumbell don’t have to have the same weights.
So overall, they’ll do. Not estatic, not disgruntled. Just middle of the road.

I bought this after I started a weight loss regimen and wanted to incorporate some weight lifting. For the price, I can’t complain but I want to make sure others out there know what I found out.
1) Sometimes you need to jiggle the knob to get it to lock for a weight.
2) The weights are good but if you don’t hold it perfectly still and with proper form, they tend to clank. (which is a problem for me because I ususally get my workouts in during the early morning or late at night).
I am happy I bought these but wish there were a way to stop the clanking which is my biggest gripe with it. All in all, if you can’t afford the PowerBlock or the BowFlex, this isn’t a bad deal.
